     Hello Mary,

Hope you enjoyed the concert - everyone on the Hayley forum is raving about Will's performance.
They loved his pure and gorgeous voice, but also his sense of humour!

Now most of them have pre-ordered his CD. Yay!

    Lots of love

I don't know where I should post this but as this thread is hot I thought that it would be seen.

I notice on Will's website that there are 2 diary events for 09/09 and 10/09. I know that Will is due on Radio 2 this Sunday so I suspect that both diary events should be August rather than September. (10/09 is not a Sunday)

    Stephany,

I have just logged in it was an amazing night and I know from some of the guys I spoke to that they enjoyed Will's voice, his sense of humour is great some of them had the pleasure of watching him during rehersals and his sense of humour is great..

I arrived at St James church to meet up with my friend trudi a little late as the trains were running late.

After a coffee we thought that we would go into the church and try and catch the rehersals( we know from previous concerts that we have been lucky enough to be allowed to stay and watch).

We were sat there and Richard came inand said that Hayley was outside.

When she came in she stopped and chatted for a while, then went to prepare herself for Rehersals.

    We also saw Dame Malvina.

Then Will came in with Paul stopped to have a chat and then they went to prepare for rehearsals.

When it came to Will's time to rehearse he decided that he wanted to use the microphone, they found the mike and then there was a problem with with the mike stand and Will was holding the mike singing and playing with one hand and having fun.

Will's rehearsal was short as they had to go and find a mike stand.

We had the pleasure of watching Christ Church Choir rehearsing they were very good.

Little did we know at that stage just how amazing the concert was going to be.

We went for a sandwich and drink and trudi and I decided that we would go and queue (thankgoodness we did) we were joined by quite a number of people from Hayleys forum.

The choir had rushed over to Westminster Abbey for Even Song Will and Paul(wills manager came back complete with mike stand) so they had to get some rehersal time in after setting everything up).

Hayley was out side doing what all women are good at shopping(outside in the courtyard there is stalls selling lots of craft items) they are great last time I bought a lovely wrap.

The ticket desk opened and then after a while the doors opened trudi and I managed to get a seat in about the 4th row we had a good view.

The concert started with the Christ Church Choir and I have to say that they are an amazing choir about 28 men/boys the young lads ranged from 10 to 14 I think.

The conductor stated that this was the end of a long 5 week tour. (I  was told that this was the one and only actual concert that they had performed during the tour).

Next came Will he played and sang at the piano, he then did a little intro about how he got in to singing and the lead part he played in a school performance at a boy's on school in my fair lady, having everyone in stitches , he then went on to describe the moment he knew that he would NEVER become an All Black and that is when he knew that he had chosen the right career, well the audience just could not clapping his sense of humour certainally shone through.

    He then sang Far Away.

He  explained that his final song he used to sing in the car with his father  and that there was no need to introduce it as we would know it when we  heard it.

His final song was playing and singing 'Don't Dream it's over.

It was truly amazing he bought the piano to life.

Will is a very versitle young man and with a wicked sense of humor amazing voice and his wonderful talent on the piano will go far.

He left the stage to  loud claping and had to come back as the audience were clapping for so long.

I know from reading Hayley's forum her fans were very impressed with Will.

I am sure that he made a whole lot of new fans last night.

Hayley was amazing as usual as was Dame Malvina, I do love opera and have to say that she has a great voice.

It wasone of the best concerts that I have attended and was glad that I went.

I would have liked to have heard hayley and Will sing a duet.

A big thanks to all who took part in the concert and I hope that the Christ Church Choir have a safe journey home.

As you can see(you know I am refering toSmile) I have managed to report quite quickly.

I have some pics that I will post later.

Re: Will & Hayley in London St James

    Hi Mary,

Many thanks for this very detailled review of Will's concert at St James. It sounds like it was a very special event. I love the song 'Don't dream it's over' (Hayley sang it at Shepherds Bush last year with Dave Dobbyn) and would have been curious to hear Will sing it. Awww he also sang So Far Away - most probably my favourite song on 'A new world'. I know for a fact that many members from the Hayley forum have now pre ordered Will's CD. They were very impressed by the clarity of his voice, but also by his sense of humour and kindness.

I'm glad you got good seats, Mary. It looks as though they were many people attending this concert. You were right to go at the theatre early to queue and collect your tickets. It's also always interesting to be at a soundcheck.

Dame Malvina Major was Hayley's former teacher so I'm sure there was a tremendous amount of respect between the two. They must have been thrilled to sing together. I would have loved to attend this "Kiwi gathering" but hey, we can't be everywhere! More or less at the same time I was enjoying myself at a Broadway musical in New York City.

I look forward to seeing your pictures, Mary. Thanks again for your lovely report. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I'm so glad to hear that you had a great time. Did you eventually go to Northampton by the way?

Stephany yes it was truly a special event and would have been great if a video could have been made of the whole concert.

It was a shame that you were not able to make it but as you say you could not have been in two places at the same time and I am sure that you had a great time on Broadway.

I think last night there was just so many wonderful things going on that you could write a story, it was such an exciting evening and I respect Hayley's fans who enjoyed Will's performance and wrote wonderful things about him as I think sometimes when you are a great fan of an individual like Hayley fans can some times be a bit blinkered about other performers on the same bill.

Will sang another song and at the start and I am ashamed to say that I have forgotten which one it wasEmbarrassed.

At the end I did manage to catch Will for a few moments but he was in great demand and I had to go to catch my train so I missed Hayley and Dame Malvina.

Yes I did get to Northampton and I will write a report and took some pics but they did not turn out but Dazza(yes the same) took a couple pics at the stage door with Will, All Angels and myself so I will post one of them as they are very good.

Hope that you are having a good time over there.

Tthis was the first time that I had been able to see Will in concert and i was extremely impressed---he seemed a lovely young lad---still only looks like a young school boy. ( I think he knows  that hence his jokes about unable to be accepted for the rugby teams)

On a musical note very good and I hope to be able to hear more from this young man.
